It was around the time that the cherry trees blossomed that Peter was transformed into a swan. He had been watching the sunset from the deck of his boat and feeling thankful for the end of the winter, and seconds later he was frantically flailing his new wings, struggling to find the balance in this unfamiliar body.
The change was not totally unexpected. There had been news on the radio that some transformations might be required, but it still came as a shock for Peter to see feathers sprouting from his own arms and to feel his feet turning into wide webbed paddles.
